INTERVIEW

When did you realize you wanted to pursue singing and songwriting?

Oh, it happened at very early age – I was three years old when I start singing serious songs with drama character! My parents are amazed with the clear melody line and strong emotional understanding of the song. They said – our daughter is an artist! And I always wanted to be so.

Regarding songwriting – I tried many times at my 20s however; I believe it wasn’t time for it. I started to feel my inner voice with what I want to tell people in my late 30s only, then lyrics and melody of one or another song started to come out easily!

As an artist how did you find your own genre? How it was your journey until defining it?

I start my singing career at 17 years old from restaurants, lounge bars, night clubs and I sang many different genres depend on the place and the occasion. Then later on in UNI I realized that all variety of jazz and R&B, funk styles reflects in my heart and unites with my soul. So it became naturally that I continue my career close to my favorite styles of music.

How would you define your performance style? Do you follow any ritual before it to prepare yourself?

Here in Dubai I work with a couple of different styles like Jazz, Pop, Gypsy – depend on my musical program and the venue I performed at. My personal/original songs style is funk, nu-jazz, lounge.

I always pray to the God to give me strength and energy for my performance to present my audience maximum positivity.

When you were starting your artistic and entrepreneurial journey, what made you choose Dubai as your main destination?

Dubai it’s a wonderful place for the artists, here you can find millions of performance opportunities as well as great places for creativity.

What have been the most rewarding and hardest things you’ve experienced at international contests and festivals?

If you have to recommend 3 UAE cultural activities which ones would be?

  1. Kids talents festival
  2. “Cultures over the world” festival
  3. UAE is got talents

As an artist based in Dubai you have performed in many amazing places. Which are your proudest memories of performing in Dubai?

My favorite place to perform at is MUSIC HALL in Zabeel Saray hotel, The Palm. It’s truly amazing concert venue which creates an amazing festive ambience for the guests and the artists.
