Tell us about one of the earliest memories of your career

The hard journey of breaking into the acting business after hearing the “No’s” and traveling to auditions not knowing if you would secure the role or not.

How do you prepare yourself before you start a new project?

Bumpers send a month or two shadowing subjects for characters that he is portraying so he can give his best on screen and television performance.

If you had to define yourself to the world, what would the headline be?

Never stop fighting for your dreams are value make it happen.

If you could write your own story, what would your destiny be? What goals would you like to achieve?

Bumpers would like to be the first African American Male Houstonian Emmy Award, Golden Globe and Academy Award winning actor.

What does success mean to you?

Mr. Bumpers feels that success means achieving your goals by working hard to achieve your goals in front of you and it means being a positive vessel that is very impactful to the people and in the communities too.

How has the perspective of your dreams and objectives changed over the years?

Bumpers is achieving his goals by securing roles back to back despite the challenges of the entertainment industry. He is defying all odds and achieving his goals head on quickly making a name for himself in the industry.

What has been the most important learning during your career?

DeMarcus Bumpers most important learning during his career is learning about contractual obligations, how to read and negotiate contracts and how to secure deals that will impact your life for the better in the future by owning the rights to your work.

Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?

Streaming Sarah based on New York Times Best Seller Joyce Kostakis and Tiffany Sturdivant attached as Director of the production.

Last, Mr. Bumpers most notable role “Friday The 13th” Jason Voorhees feature fan film with Chris Todd Durbin and Jeff May.

DeMarcus Bumpers is a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University. He is son of Dr. Dedrie Bumpers- Francis and Lee Bumpers both entrepreneurs for over three decades. Bumpers worked in the oil and gas industry and was preparing prepping for law school before deciding to pursue acting full-time. Mr. Bumpers is family to Death Row Records Founders Michael Harry O Harris and Lydia Harris. He is Cousin Removed to International Grammy Award winning songstress Beyoncé Knowles, Cousin to NFL New York Giants Football Player Darius Slayton and Cousin to Film Director Justin Simien that directed “Dear White People” .

Lydia Harris was responsible for the launch of Bumpers acting career in Hollywood. Lydia and Michael Harris are no strangers to music and film industry. They were responsible for some high profile celebrity careers such as, 2PAC, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and more. They were also responsible for Denzel Washington career by casting him in Broadway play checkmate which the wrote, directed, financed, and produced causing them to be the first African Americans to achieve that in New York Broadway play history. The Harris also Cast Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King Jr daughter and Malcolm X Daughters in one of their Broadway play.
