INTERVIEW

Tell us about one of the earliest memories of your career

When I was a little girl, me and my mom used to visit my auntie pretty often. Then they were chatting and sipping tea in the living room. In the other room there was a piano, though I didn’t have any idea of how to play anything rather than «Cat waltz”, I was enjoying so much pretending I’m playing. I had a newspaper as a music sheets that I pretended to read. Those days my only dream was to start a music school and to be a pianist.

A few years after when I became 7, my auntie gave exactly this piano to me and pushed my mother to start my music education. I’m still grateful and happy.

How do you prepare yourself before you start a new project?

Honestly, as a professional musician I have been preparing all life to all kinds of projects, to be enough advanced in each style of music that I perform. 17 years of musical education that is mandatory in Russia gives the musicians almost everything we need for the future projects. We practiced 4-5 hours a day for years, imagine how much work it is?! I can compare this to the military training. And it’s all getting done for one moment on the stage when I perform and create magic with my music and my voice, when people are mesmerized and think it’s so easy and careless.

If you had to define yourself to the world, what would the headline be?

Success is in the details

If you could write your own story, what would your destiny be? What goals would you like to achieve?

I love the novels of Erich Maria Remarque or Russian literature and if I write something, it most probably would be the same heartbreaking style. But as long as I can’t see myself in such a depressive, hopeless and dark stories, let’s say it would be the plot about success of the person who’s in love with what she’s doing and it leads her to the life she never expected to have in the beginning. Let’s say a “story of motivation and success”.

What does success mean to you?

There’s a phrase “the devil is in the details”. I have my own version “success is in the details”. It is made of little things that create the whole picture as a completed puzzle. It’s a smile of one guest, it’s a burning eyes of those people who are listening to me, it’s singing along with me couple. It’s gigabytes of videos with me that my audience took all over the world and keeps it as a memory. In the end of the day it’s the level of comfort that I have in life. You just have to enjoy your every moment and have an ability to notice and appreciate all of this. That is success to me.

How has the perspective of your dreams and objectives changed over the years?

My childhood dream was to move to Switzerland and work as a musician there. As you see only the name of the country is different, although I never had enough ambitions to go that far as I’ve done now. Maybe that’s the secret ingredient of the recipe.

What has been the most important learning during your career?

That everyone will get their own piece of fame, work, love and success. Because everyone deserves it.

Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?

I’m very excited about an upcoming season 2023-2024, I’m planning to expand my French project as it’s one of my favorite music to sing and it deserves to be widely recognized. Also looking forward for more events with gorgeous female orchestra Felicity, it’s also one of the best things I’m doing and I will keep you posted.
